What is the Referral Program?

Our referral program rewards you for spreading the word about TeachBuySell! When you refer a friend and they become a verified seller, you'll earn $20 in credit and they'll get $10 off their seller fee.

How the rewards work:

You (the referrer): $20 credit added to your account which can be paid out to your nominated bank account!

Your friend (the new seller): $10 off their seller fee (pays $40 instead of $50)

How to Get Your Referral Code

  1. Log in to your TeachBuySell account

  2. Click your profile picture in the top right corner

  3. Select "Referrals" from the dropdown menu, or go to Account Settings then Referrals

  4. Your unique referral code will be displayed (format: TEACH-XXXXXX)

How to Share Your Referral Code

From your Referrals dashboard, you have several easy ways to share:

  • Copy Your Link

    • Click the "Copy link" button to copy your unique referral URL to your clipboard. You can then paste it anywhere - text messages, social media, emails, etc.

    • Click "Email" to open your email app with a pre-written message containing your referral link.

    • Use the Facebook, Instagram, or Share buttons to quickly post your referral link.

Your Shareable Link

Your referral link looks like this:

When someone clicks your link and signs up, your referral code is automatically applied to their account.

When Do I Earn My $20 Credit?

Your $20 credit is added to your account when your referred friend:

  1. Signs up using your referral link (or enters your code manually)

  2. Pays their seller fee to become a verified seller

Once they complete payment, your credit is automatically added to your account. You'll receive an email notification when this happens.

Referral Statuses

On your Referrals dashboard, you can track the status of each referral:

  • Pending - Your friend signed up but hasn't paid their seller fee yet

  • Credited - Your friend paid their seller fee and you've earned $20!

  • Paid Out - You've cashed out this credit to your bank account

How to Cash Out Your Credits

Once you've accumulated referral credits, you can transfer them to your bank account.

Requirements

- You must be a verified seller with payout details set up

- Minimum cash out amount: $10

Steps to Cash Out

  1. Go to Account Settings then Referrals

  2. In the "Credit Balance" card, click the "Cash Out" button

  3. Review your bank account details shown in the confirmation screen

  4. Click "Confirm Cash Out"

  5. Your funds will be transferred to your bank account

How long does it take?

Funds typically arrive in your bank account within 2-7 business days, depending on your bank.

Not seeing the Cash Out button?

If you see "Set Up Payout" instead of "Cash Out", you need to configure your bank account details first:

  1. Click "Set Up Payout"

  2. You'll be taken to Account Settings then Payments

  3. Add your BSB and account number

  4. Return to the Referrals page to cash out

Viewing Your Referral History

Your Referrals dashboard shows:

• Your referral code with easy sharing options

  • Statistics: Total signups, qualified referrals, and total earnings

  • Credit balance: Your current available balance

  • Referral history: A list of all your referrals with their status and dates

For referrals that have been paid out, you can click "View Receipt" to see the Stripe receipt for that transfer.

Can My Friend Enter the Code Manually?

Yes! If someone didn't use your referral link when signing up, they can still apply your code:

  1. When they go to pay their seller fee, they'll see "Have a referral code?"

  2. They click this and enter your code (e.g., TEACH-A1B2C3)

  3. The $10 discount is applied to their checkout

Note: A referral code can only be applied before paying the seller fee, and each person can only use one referral code.
